San Juan Coloradans For Nebraska Scholarship
DESCRIPTION:
1. The San Juan Coloradans for Nebraska Scholarship (SJCN) is to be awarded to a graduating high school student who will attend an educational institution after graduation from high school.
2. The number and amount of scholarships will vary depending on the monies available each year.
APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS:
1. Must demonstrate good citizenship and service to community.
2. Must complete an application.
3. Must attach an essay. In a maximum of one page, please discuss who you are, your goals for the future, factors that led you to choose the vocational course you are pursuing, goals you have set for yourself, vocational course you are pursuing, goals you have set for yourself, and why you are deserving of this scholarship.
4. Must attach a transcript.
5. Must attach a resume.
6. ALL DOCUMENTS MUST BE COPIED ON THE FRONT SIDE ONLY!
7. Must be citizen of the United States of America.
SCHOLARSHIP PROCEDURE & SELECTION:
1. Procedure
a. Scholarship applications will be available at the Guidance Offices of eligible high schools, and on the SJCN Website: www.sjcn4ne.com
b. The scholarship will not renew.
c. The scholarship may be used at a college, junior college, technical institute or vocational -technical institute.
d. Scholarship applications must be received by SJCN no later than April 1st of the current year.

2. Selection
a. The selection committee will consist of paid members of the San Juan Coloradans for Nebraska and selected appointees from the Montrose Community Foundation.
SCHOLARSHIP PAYMENT & PUBLICITY:
1. Payment
a. The Foundation will issue the scholarship monies in check form to the recipient and the institution, which the recipient plans to attend.
b. The scholarship check will be issued by August 1 of the year it is awarded.
2. Publicity
a. The SJCN will coordinate the publicity about the recipient.
